37 killed in ethnic violence in Kyrgyzstan

Earlier in April, Kyrgyzstan had landed into big news when the president of the country was overthrown from the country. The whole country had come out on the roads and this churned out the headlines in the print and electronic media besides chewing up leads all over the web.

Now the country is once again under uncontrollable news. Well, this time due to the violence emerged in Kyrgyzstan killing more than 37 people (as per the latest reports) and wounded above 500.

It has been learnt from the sources that the overnight violence in the country has killed more than 37 and got 500 people wounded in Southern Kyrgyzstan. The ethnic conflict has gripped the country’s second largest city of Osh. It is being termed the worst outbreak of violence after the president’s overthrown in April.

The interim government has now declared the state of emergency in Osh and its surrounding regions till June 20th.
Acting president, Roza Otunbayeva said that the clashes had emerged from ethnic tensions and were instigated by the criminal elements in Kyrgyzstan. The people have set the buildings and shops on fire.

Chinese and Russian leaders have asked the people of Kyrgyzstan to be calm.

China even said that it will continue to help Kyrgyzstan as much as it can. It is being reported that more than 1000 soldiers and policemen have been deployed for patrolling the areas.
