Shanidham Temple

The news is about “Shanidham” one of India’s largest and well-known temples. The temple perhaps the only one situated in Delhi and is famous for the highest Statue of Lord Shani in the world. In fact, the capital of India Delhi is also recognizing with the name Shani Dham Temple due to the presence of this biggest statute of Hindu Lord Shani. The temple is located on the Chattarpur Road at Asola, Fatehpur Behri which is 16Km close to Qutub Minar and 6kms from Chattarpur temple.
The temple becomes famous and grabs much intention of people from all over the world being a tallest statue of Lord Shani in the world. The statue of Lord Shani is man-made which has been built from natural Rock. During the weekend, the temple remains quiet but active and becomes life on every Saturday. People from different places especially come to visit Shani Dham temple for offering prayers in order to please their lord. The temple becomes busy on Saturday because Saturday is recognized being the day of Lord Shani.

It is also known that the word Shani signifies the seventh day which is Saturday in Hindu terminology. The tallest and one of the biggest statues became the center of attraction on May 31, 2003 when the statue was uncovered and revealed at Shani Dham Temple. Anant Shree Vibhushit Jagat Guru Swami was the founder of this Lord Shani statue.

According to the Hinduism belief, Shani is one of the nine Navagraha (primary celestial beings) in Hindu astrology. In Hinduism, Shani is the son of Surya, the sun god.
