Neal Parker died at the spot due to a head injury after hitting a containment area at the end of the race track. The crash occurred during the NHRA event which took his life. Neal Parker is the second racer who died on the track during the race in last two years.
Neal Parker was one of the top members of Alcohol Funny car. He was to qualify for the Super National’s after winning this round, but unfortunately he lost his life in the process. The tragic incident was quite shocking for the viewers and it made the atmosphere on the track sad.
NHRA management issued the condolence statement to the family of Parker. They stated that we are deeply shocked and saddened due to the sudden death of Neal Parker and our sincere feelings are with the family.
Anthony Vestal, Spokesman of NHRA stated that Parker raced several times on the East Coast but he wasn’t one of the top ranked drivers of the national race.
According to the reports the race remained suspended for almost three hours, while authorities investigate the incident. The track was reopened after covering and gathering all the important information required for investigation.
