Blackberry Slider

Some new pictures of the upcoming Blackberry phone, which is going to be called the Bold 9800, showed up on the internet from a Chinese website. These pictures are very clear and in pretty good resolution, so there is no doubt that Blackberry is indeed going to be releasing its first slider phone.

The phone looks extremely good in the pictures and the size seems small enough to fit in a jeans pocket. The information about the upcoming Bold says that it’s going to have a full QWERTY hardware keyboard that’s going to slide out from underneath the screen. This can bee seen in the pictures. Apart from that it is also known that the phone is going to have a capacitive touch screen. This is also going to be the first time Blackberry would employ a capacitive touch screen instead of their Sure Press technology.

Most slider cell phones feature a screen that is half the thickness of the phone, in the 9800’s case the screen is about quarter of the thickness of the rest of the phone. This dimension allows the phone to be slid very easily allowing the screen to move out of the way of the keyboard with ease.

Along with other information about the phone it is also know that the 9800 is going to run the latest version of the Blackberry OS. This should seem interesting because even though the original Blackberry OS had a huge variety of functions, the company is moving towards features that are common in the market.
