Queen Noor

As a leading member of anti nuclear movement against the nuclear weapon, Queen Noor of Jordan went to Hollywood to support the movie “Countdown to Zero.” It’s a movie about nuclear proliferation. She also highlighted the importance of the movement. Queen Noor spoke about the nuclear threat which people are facing now a day all around the world. This ninety minutes documentary is produced by Diane Weyermann and Lawrence Bender. The last wife and widow of King Hussein of Jordan, Noor says, for her it’s a new world but she is happy because she is here for a great cause.

Queen Noor said,

“I believe this film needs to be seen throughout the world, and help those populations mobilize to put pressure on political leaders to support political leaders who support the elimination of nuclear weapons”.

This documentary features interviews of Tony Blair, Mikhail Gorbachev, Jimmy Carter and Robert McNamara and many other known names. Queen Noor says film is the most powerful way to convey any message.

She says,

“I look at this from the perspective of trying to promote understanding between the Middle East, the Arab and Muslim worlds and the West over the past 35 years.”

“Countdown to Zero” is set to release on 23 July 2010 in U.S and it will give a new way to think about. Nuclear weapons are not a problem of one or two areas, it an open threat for everyone.

On the debut in the Hollywood Noor was very happy because she was there to support a challenging matter and after viewing the movie Hillary Clinton gave two thumbs up.
