South Korea Republic Vs Greece

Today, on second day of FIFA World Cup, soccer fans witnessed first win of the tournament when South Korea defeated Greece with score 2-0 in their first match played at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Lee Jung-Soo and Park Ji-Sung were the most valuable players of the match from South Korea who made goals. South Korea remained fortunate from the very start of the match as Lee Jung-Soo brought them with a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute. Second goal was struck exactly seven minutes after halftime. As South Korea showed a better start this time so, this is a chance for them to be promoted in the next round by winning one or two more matches. South Korea has managed itself to be promoted to knockout stage since 2002, it was that year when they finished tournament at third position but major reason of that was they were host along with Japan.

A very poor performance from a lackluster, young, immature Greece team who had just one shot even after 60 minutes of the match. In the last 20 minutes, they showed aggressive play but it had been too late at that time. All of the Greece team preferred to play a draw and it seemed they had no intention to win the match. They just wanted to end in a draw. Clearly, there are no chances for Greece to promote to the next round as they are lacking in offensive play and their attacking panel is very weak.
