The Argentina soccer team is very lucky to have a legend like Diego Maradona. Former player Diego Maradona is now with the team in the World Cup as a coach. The former great player has a different way to ready his team for the best game. Though his method is bit hard but no doubt he was a great player so he knows how to play the best.

FIFA has awarded him with “Player of the Century Award” and it’s a great honor for him and for his country as well. For his great performances in 1986 World Cup he is known as “Hand of God”. His outstanding performances during matches made his team to come back home with the World Cup. In the world cup 1986 his team defeated West Germany in the finals. Not only has this he also holds the “The Goal of the Century” award.

Today Argentina’s football team won the match with a 1-0 and defeated Nigeria in a Group-B opener. It’s the first World Cup 2010 victory of Diego Maradona as a coach. On Saturday at Ellis Park Argentina’s Gabriel Heinze scored the only goal in the sixth minute of the game. Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was elected as Man-of-the-Match.

International superstar Maradona is fans favorite and he has been coaching the national team since 2008. As a player he faced many problems during his career such as suspensions and drug abuse. His career ended when tested positive for a banned substance in 1994.
